Today, circuits with three auxiliary contactors represent state-of-the-art technology. Three auxiliary contactors, with positively-driven contacts are used, as shown in the circuit diagram.
The three auxiliary contactors guarantee redundancy and function monitoring. The positively-driven contacts guarantee that the auxiliary contactors mutually monitor themselves. Faults are therefore detected and the circuit can no longer be closed after shutdown, therefore eliminating subsequent faults.
With this circuit, using today’s state-of-the-art technology, it can be assumed that if the auxiliary contactors incorrectly function this will not result in a hazardous status in the system.
